Curation Project

For this project, the school that I currently teach at is mostly made up of Hispanic students whose first language is Spanish. In addition, we have small populations of Chinese and Vietnamese speaking students as well. English Language Learners (ELLs) are a huge presence at our school, and our school makes it a priority to be extremely mindful of this. We embrace ELL teaching strategies and techniques but could expand when it comes to assistive technology. I curated a list of websites and applications for our families who need support in learning English. (Click the title to read the project in full)

Blended Learning Professional Development

Myself and a coworker ran a professional development training with the staff at the Early College of Arvada demonstrating what Blended Learning is and how it can be incorporated into classrooms. In addition, we used tools to demonstrate how to make blended learning more interactive. (Click the title to see the full presentation)

Blended Learning Website

Myself and two of my classmates collaborated together and created this website explaining what blended learning is, case studies, history, analysis, and the impact it has had on classrooms K-12

Copyright Cartoon

We were tasked with creating a cartoon or comic displaying the issues of copy rights. This  is the comic strip I created demonstrating how I feel intellectual property is handled online.

Remix Sketchnote

Sketchnotes, where have you been all my life!? I learned about this note taking method throughout my course work in grad school, and have been using it ever since. This is what I use to prepare my students for their Unit test and they ask for it every time. This here is just an example of a topic we had in class and my notes, thoughts, and doodles on it.

30 Second Video

For an assignment, we were tasked with creating an original video from scratch with only one limitation: it had to be thirty seconds or less. Initially, I was unsure what to cover. I wanted something more original and came up with the quick version of Jim and Pam's love story from The Office. It is my favorite show, and I had a lot of fun creating this.

Buffalo Sentence Explained!

For a more recent course, we were given the infamous sentence, "Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo." I was asked to explain this sentence using some sort of media. I decided to record myself "teaching" about this sentence seeing as I am a teacher and that is my natural element.

Final Reflection

Many of the courses throughout grad school have required us to not only produce assignments, but also to reflect on the work we created. This was unique and something I had not experienced before. In the end of one of my favorite courses, we had to create a final reflection over the entire course. Here is an example of some these blog posts I maintained.
